Government Medical College, Ramanathapuram, was established in 2021 as part of the Tamil Nadu government’s initiative to expand medical education and healthcare services across the state.

Affiliated with The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University and recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC), the college offers a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program with an annual intake of 100 students.

Situated on a 25-acre campus in Ramanathapuram, the institution is equipped with modern infrastructure, including well-furnished laboratories, a digital library, and hostel facilities.
